2009
Despite the economic crisis, sales were maintained at the prior-year level. Development is split in two: robust in the business with end-consumers in the specialist retail segment (Jacques' Wein-Depot) and in the mail order segment (Hanseatisches Wein- und Sekt-Kontor), but sluggish in the wholesale segment. EBIT reached EUR 22.4 million and is the second-highest in the history of the company.
2010
A vintage financial year: the Hawesko Group, sales up 11.6% to EUR 378 million, performed even better than originally expected. It profited in particular from the recovery in business outside Germany for older vintages of high-quality Bordeaux wines, and from the economic upturn domestically. EBIT, at EUR 25.7 million, achieved the highest ever level in the history of the company.
