| Mail-order The mail-order segment of the Hawesko-group is comprised of four companies: the flagship Hanseatisches Wein- und Sekt-Kontor, the Rothschild specialist Selection de Bordeaux and the leader in selling ultra-premium wines through mail-order, Carl Tesdorpf - Weinhandel zu Lübeck. The Hanseatische Wein- und Sekt-Kontor (HAWESKO), the original company and namesake of the group, is Germany's leader in mail-order wine sales. Founded in 1964, it has developed into one of the most significant German importers of French and Italian wines through the years. More than one million satisfied customers since the founding of the company bear testimony to success of our marketing strategy. Some 1,250 various wines and champagnes are on current offer to HAWESKO customers: a product range that is tailored to the tastes of our customers and is continuously supplemented by attractive new products. This happens on the basis of our sales data, especially those signalling particular trends. As a result we were able to gain another 100,000 new customers in 2008 alone. Twice a year we inform our customers of the product range with a main catalogue. In addition we send special catalogues and brochures throughout the year. Seven days a week our 36 customer service agents advise customers and take orders directly. Roughly 50% of our mail-order customers prefer to order by telephone, another 30% send in a written order (by post and by fax) and more than 20% via Internet, which is on the increase. In 1999 the Hawesko Group acquired the company Carl Tesdorpf - Weinhandel zu Lübeck. Tesdorpf looks back on an over 300 year history full of tradition and had such illustrious customers as Napoleon. It came to pass during this time that the French stored their red wine in the marine climate of Lübeck and found that it aged better here than at home. With this discovery a new wine was born - the Rotspon - and with it a tradition that Carl Tesdorpf still continues today with its exclusive Lübecker Rotspon. This company concentrates on wines of the ultra-premium segment from € 25.00 per bottle. At the end of 2010 the Hawesko Group launched a mail-order service to Sweden with its subsidiary The Wine Company. A Swedish-language website as well as extensive information about the wine offer is intended to appeal to wine enthusiasts in Sweden, and The Wine Company takes care of all formalities for customers there. As a result, our customers in Sweden can choose from a wide variety of wines and have them delivered conveniently to their home! Relationships which go back many years to more than 400 wine producers secure purchasing benefits for Hawesko and make our exclusive product range possible. The logistics center of Hawesko, with its fully automatic high-bay pallet-system, provides competitive advantage of low costs and great efficiency and flexibility: from the center, up to 2,000 deliveries are sent out per day; roughly 90% of these reach our customers within 48 hours. We also offer delivery service within 24 hours. In the coming years we will continue to emphasize quality, service and speed.
